The corrupt and regressive Iranian regime of Ahmadinejad and Khamenei have refused to recognize the will of the Iranian people and have stolen the election and put down the people’s protests by violence. The time is long past for the people of Iran to have a leader who will allow Iran to engage the world and represent the will of the people. If the people want to retain their theocratic government, we support that. The world must support the right of people to peacefully protest against the real and perceived wrongs committed by their leaders.
The current Iranian government has chosen the path of violence, resulting in the senseless death of a young woman bystander, Neda Agha-Soltan, and many more whose deaths were not captured on camera. We stand with these people in solidarity against the brutal regime that seeks to keep them in captivity and deprivation.
May the people of Iran triumph over the violent forces of Ahmadinejad and Khamenei and may they find a way to replace these evil men with new leaders who will respect life and bring about a second, peaceful revolution that will allow Iran to realize its potential greatness.
