Games as Art

Those who haven’t played video games in years, or who have played only mainstream games, may still consider games as mindless entertainment or violent exercises in stress release. The idea of games as art may seem to you wishful thinking or something far in the future. But those of us who’ve played or studied modern games, particularly those at the edges of popularity and those that take more than fast reflexes to play well, know that the time of games as art has been upon us for several years for certain and arguably much longer.

Monkey-Pirate-Robot-Ninja-Zombie. This is the latest in a long series of Rock-Paper-Scissors alternatives. This one looks way too complicated for casual play by my boys, who are still having fun with the original. This looks like the kind of game that serves as a secret nerd handshake that gets you into an exclusive all-night D&D club.
